Job Description

Job Overview Dismantles, inspects, repairs and assembles all types of mining equipment along with associated component parts such as gears, pumps, etc.

Uses the following tools:

Hand tools, pneumatic tools, welding equipment, tow motor, hoists, shop measuring devices, band saw, cutting torches, computer, etc. Key Job Responsibilities Dismantles and inspects complete machines and their component parts.
Determines necessary repairs and orders parts as required
Installs bearings, oil seals, etc., and assembles the completed part
Installs repaired parts on complete machines using necessary hand tools and welding equipment
Cuts and installs hydraulic hoses and fittings
Uses SAP system to order parts
Uses press to straighten parts and cutting equipment to reshape parts
Uses tow motors and hoists to move and position parts
Operates steam cleaner as necessary.
Obeys all safety rules and performs housekeeping functions.
Assembles and performs final assembly work.

Qualifications/Requirements Use basic math Perform metric conversions Read assembly drawings Read weldment drawings Use tape Use micrometer Use caliper Use dial indicators Use depth mics Use feeler gauge Use flow gauge Use temperature gauge Proper operation of fork trucks Proper operation of cranes Safety training (Haz-Com, Lock Out / Tag Out, PPE, MSDS, Housekeeping, Lifting, Electrical) Knowledgeable of ISO Use presses Use test stands Use bead blaster and shot blaster Use grinders Use porta-power Basic computer skills Knowledgeable of SAP applications Understands Preload Understands Backlash Operates steam cleaner Operates band saw Uses cutting torches Use torques wrenches Additional Information
