Mobile Fleet Maintenance Technician Fast Fleet Road Service Nashville, TN 37210 Job Overview As a Mobile Fleet Maintenance Technician with Fast Fleet, you will play a critical role in ensuring our customers’ vehicles remain operational, efficient, and safe. This dynamic position blends scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) services and onsite repairs at customer locations across Middle Tennessee, with responsive, on-call duties to handle unplanned immediate repair needs. In this hybrid role, you’ll independently manage your daily schedule, performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and a broad range of repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers directly at customer yards and in field environments. Overview:
Hourly Pay:
$22 to $28 per hour based on experience $1,000 sign-on bonus after 90 days Weekly payroll Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, 2 pm to 10 pm, with occasional weekend and on-call responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Scheduled Preventive Maintenance:
Perform routine preventive maintenance services including DOT inspections, fluid checks, tire rotations, and system assessments to maintain vehicle safety and efficiency.
Onsite Repairs:
Respond to customer locations to diagnose and perform mechanical and electrical repairs on trucks, trailers, and associated equipment.
Hybrid Scheduling:
Balance scheduled maintenance appointments with flexibility for emergency or immediate onsite repairs as assigned by dispatch.
Technical Expertise:
Accurately diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including electrical, hydraulic, brake, cooling, fuel, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components.
Inventory & Equipment Management:
Efficiently manage parts inventory and maintain company-issued service truck, ensuring availability and readiness for all assigned tasks.
Documentation & Compliance:
Complete all required DOT and company documentation accurately and promptly, maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.
Customer Service:
Communicate effectively and professionally with customers and team members to ensure high satisfaction and timely issue resolution.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles diagnostics and repairs Valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card within 72 hours of hire Must be at least 21 years old and capable of physically demanding tasks (lifting, bending, standing) Ability to pass Fast Fleet’s background check, MVR check, drug test, and DOT physical Own a basic set of hand tools required for repairs Ability to securely take home and store the assigned service truck and its contents
