PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
The Truck Maintenance will diagnose, adjust, repair, and maintain all company vehicles, responding to business needs as directed and producing at an acceptable level.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform complete inspection and servicing of tractors, trailers, and all company vehicles repairing or replacing parts as required Clean and inspect over-the-road equipment, properly utilize and maintain the cleaning equipment and washing solutions Perform air conditioning and brake inspections on all company vehicles to assure proper and safe operation repairing or replacing parts as required Inspect, mount, and dismount tires making necessary repairs and/or replacements, as needed to assure over-the-road equipment tires are in “road-worthy” condition Repair minor breakdowns, including welding on equipment Make repairs per vehicle condition report Diagnose, analyze, and solve minor electrical problems Recognize and fix problems other than those written on vehicle condition report Document work performed, parts used, and labor time in an electronic record keeping system. Utilize technical publications, including service manuals and service bulletins, and use information contained in them to do their own work, and to assist others concerning the content Properly care for and store all tools used in maintaining equipment Test-drive and inspect all vehicles to determine other major and minor repairs and service needs Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation Assist other truck shop personnel in the performance of their duties as requested Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, and technical instructions Take ownership over your work, equipment, conditions, and surroundings to keep safety first in all things both for yourself and for all Team members, situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions Maintain a clean work environment including floors, desks, and fans in accordance with our 5S system
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Six months to one year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
