Automotive Lab Tech Job Summary:
He/She provides technical support for internal and external customers relating to measuring and testing Organize all the measurement and testing activities based on the different programs and production requests Develops and maintains systems to ensure the integrity of records, analysis of data, and reports Meet/ exceed budgeted financial expectations for the laboratory by optimizing costs of external calibration or verification Ensures all lab staff are adequately competent/ polyvalent to perform all required job functions and that proficiency records are maintained Carrying out all PPE and safety rules as required within the laboratory Obtains and maintains all related normative and customer specifications related to measurement and testing (ISO, SAE, ASTM, DIN, etc.) Understand customer requirements to organize lab procedures, schedules and staffing to meet expectations (control plan, OK 1st piece, annual layout, etc.) Verify the capability of the equipment for the characteristic to measure (MSA studies) Responsible for maintaining the calibration schedule and records of all measuring and test equipment related to Key product characteristic (KPC) and Key control characteristic (KCC) Analyze test/ measurement data to determine product conformity Recommends measures to improve testing procedures, use of equipment, and need for new equipment Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices/lessons learned across the organization and within the site
Qualifications:
