GACSavannah Unique Skills:
In service Gulfstream experience required Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GEDrequired. Six (6) years experience in an avionics/electrical careerfield; or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviationelectronics and four (4) years related experience. A&P (FAAAirframe and Powerplant) license preferred. Other FCC Licensepreferred. Other NCATT preferred.
Position Purpose:
Providesleadership, technical expertise and guidance while performingvarious operational, functional tests and repairs ofavionics/electronic, aircraft equipment and systems to ensure adefect free aircraft. Provides superior technical expertise intesting, troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies toensure minimum schedule impact. Demonstrates technical expertiseand leadership by defining and implementing process changes toreduce cost and meet schedule without compromising Safety orQuality. Demonstrates the knowledge and leadership skills required.to fill in for the team leader thus ensuring that the company goalsof Safety and Quality are enforced all times while adhering todaily work plans to maintain schedule requirements.
Job DescriptionPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates superior technical skills and expertise inavionics and acft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
Provides direct training to personnel to support companycross-training goals while ensuring a safety conscience, qualityoriented, skilled workforce. Teaches the installation and functionally testing ofelectrical/avionics components and systems per Engineeringspecifications, drawings and maintenance manuals ensuring a defectfree system. Ensures quality and efficiency of all installations:troubleshoots and teaches troubleshooting processes/concepts toprovide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems. Demonstrates the skills and knowledge required. to effectiveand efficiently repair or replace defective components and wiringto ensure installations meet conformity. Demonstrates effectiverepair techniques using acceptable practices including splicing,soldering and pinning of wiring. Oversees the performance and compliance with engineeringchanges and modifications as required. Sets up and operates necessary test equipment. Conductsfunctional and operational tests to evaluate performance andreliability. Demonstrates through diligent compliance the importance ofmaintaining daily logs and other paperwork. Ensures that all workperformed on the acft is properly and completely documented . As required, pre-inspects work of others prior to submitting toinspection for approval to reduce rework and inspection time. Provides the knowledge and technical expertise in testing andmaintaining test equipment and electronic systems and components asrequired. Enforces the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-Sprogram and all safety regulations. Adapts to sudden schedule changes. Coordinates with other disciplines concerningprojects.
Additional Functions:
1. Where required, teaches the installation and functionallytesting of electrical/avionics components and systems perEngineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manualsensuring a defect free system. . 2. Self inspection capability for all avionics testingfunctions in applicable areas. . 3. In support of acft certification and final phase testing,may include flight tests on acft as required. .Perform other dutiesas assigned.
Other Requirements:
Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting ofother acft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such ashydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controlsor structural installations and repairs. APU run qualification and engine run qualificationpreferred. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematicdiagrams.
