GoJet Airlines is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Technical Engineering Specialist•Structures and Interiors to join our dynamic Technical Operations team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the structural integrity and interior reliability of our aircraft fleet. This position involves close collaboration with maintenance teams, equipment manufacturers, and regulatory agencies to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient aircraft operations. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Included in position but not limited to:
The Technical Engineering Specialist-Structures and Interiors reports directly to the Manager, Technical Engineering. Operational control elements, when applicable, always reside with the air carrier. The Specialist provides in-depth knowledge, skill, and experience relating primarily to aircraft Structures and Interiors as well as associated alteration and repair programs. Conducts daily task activities to monitor, assess, and take appropriate actions needed to maintain aircraft equipment safely, reliably, and economically. Liaises directly with equipment manufacturers and service providers to develop and produce technical data and documents used in the maintenance and repair of company aircraft. Provides after-hours engineering support for Maintenance Control during AOG situations.
The minimum qualifications for this position require:
Bachelor’s Degree; or equivalent level of experience in a mechanical or aeronautical discipline.
At least three (3) years’ experience processing structures and interiors engineering work in a part 121 air carrier (regional or mainline).
Must have very competent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to read and write fluently in the English language.
Possess a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant license (preferred•required if not degreed).
Basic mathematical competencies
Knowledge of Algebra, Geometry and Basic Trigonometry to support engineering analysis
Must have a good working knowledge of CFRs with emphasis on parts 121, 91, 43, 25, 26, 21.
Must be able to analyze Airworthiness Directives and manufacturers service information.
Structures and interiors knowledge/experience of CRJ is desired; will consider other aircraft experience
Must have strong skills with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Experience using AutoCAD software to produce engineering drawings (preferred).
Must have the ability to prioritize work and coordinate with various groups.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Included in position but not limited to:
Adhere to the Professional Standards as outlined in
GMM1 0-1.2.
Promote safety as the number one priority in both aircraft and personnel.
Provide leadership and mandate compliance to ensure operations are performed within the guidelines set forth by government agencies (i.e., FAA, EPA, OSHA, etc.) and GoJet policies and procedures and applicable aircraft manuals.
Generate engineering documents (EOs) to specify actions required to comply with ADs and to accomplish service bulletins, alterations, repairs, and the manufacture of company produced parts.
Provide engineering support to Maintenance Control, Line Maintenance, and Check Maintenance for structural and interiors issues.
Provide after-hours engineering support during AOG situations
Generate FCDs for the accomplishment of fleet inspections.
Review manufacturers’ service information (SB, SL, etc.) to determine applicability and impact to company fleet.
Present engineering proposals to MRB, as required.
Coordinate interior issues (for example, emergency equipment, galley loading) with applicable departments (for example, In-Flight, Flight Operations, and Ground Operations).
Develop changes to MX-043(s) for presentation to the Maintenance Review Board. Once approved, advise IT for updating the MX-043 index.
Responsible for creating and maintaining drawings within the Technical Engineering Drawing System.
Responsible for reviewing/writing ICA prior to release (as required).
Other duties as assigned.
