Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Handyman / Pool Maintenance Technician. This dynamic role will involve both general property maintenance and the upkeep of swimming pools across our managed properties in Gulf Shores. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying potential issues, skilled in a variety of repair tasks, and knowledgeable in pool cleaning and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on properties, including but not limited to: Basic plumbing (e.g., fixing leaks, unclogging drains) Basic electrical (e.g., changing fixtures, troubleshooting minor issues) Carpentry (e.g., repairing trim, fence repair) Drywall repair and painting General handyman tasks as needed Proactively inspect properties to identify maintenance needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Clean and maintain swimming pools, ensuring water chemistry is balanced and compliant with safety standards. Vacuum pools, skim debris, and clean tiles. Inspect and maintain pool equipment, reporting any issues. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed. Communicate effectively with the property management team and, at times, with tenants or owners. Manage time and prioritize tasks efficiently to address maintenance requests in a timely manner. Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and effectively. Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role. Experience in pool cleaning and maintenance, including chemical balancing. Ability to identify and troubleshoot maintenance issues. Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Ability to work independently and manage a schedule effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy objects. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
REQUIRMENTS
Pool operator certification (CPO) Previous experience in property maintenance or vacation rental maintenance. Personal Cellular Device Must be willing to install QuickBooks Time Keeper on a personal device.
