MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – 1ST SHIFT JOB LOCATION MCCALLA, AL – TUSCALOOSA PLANT
As a member of the McCalla team, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairs and maintaining equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, dc electric tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment. The Maintenance Technician is a part of the Engineering Department and reports to the Maintenance Manager. The team member will be responsible for ensuring safety standards are followed at all times.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to: Observes mechanical devices in operation, diagnoses, and repairs malfunctions
Dismantle mechanical devices to gain access to, remove, and, replace defective parts
Make approved modifications to machinery and equipment to meet production needs
Lubricate and clean parts
Fabricate approved fixtures for production use
Start equipment and devices to test their performance
Perform preventative maintenance work orders on equipment and tooling
Perform Lockout/tag out procedure for defective equipment or tools
Adhere to the standard work instructions (SWI’s), forms, work instructions, and procedures
Participate in team meetings and understands performance goals and objectives
Assure safety and quality standards are followed at all times
Contribute to continuous improvement and 5S initiatives

Your Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Knowledge Quality Systems on Automotive industry quality system requirements (i.e.
IATF16949, VDA6.1/6.3, ISO 9001, CCC
)
Bonus If You Have:
Bilingual 2 years plus Maintenance experience
