Maintenance Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of production by performing preventative maintenance on equipment. Your work will involve following standard procedures and maintaining a high level of safety. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment products, ensuring safe and efficient production. Conduct repairs to equipment as needed and assist in the installation of new process equipment. Train new employees in maintenance processes and procedures. Lead by example in all safe work practices and procedures. Demonstrate 5S standards to maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow verbal and written instructions. Develop and train other team members in maintenance standards and procedures. Perform duties in the absence of designated personnel. Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and schedule. Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. Troubleshoot malfunctions by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications. Perform regular preventative maintenance per PM schedule and provide feedback on schedule adjustments. Locate sources of problems by observing and listening to mechanical devices in operation. Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Assist in the installation of new production equipment and required infrastructure. Read and interpret work instructions, then execute tasks accordingly. Perform all other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Proficient in troubleshooting and maintenance techniques. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and pneumatics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in training and developing team members. Ability to demonstrate and apply 5S standards. Work Environment The work environment is centered around maintaining and ensuring the functionality of machinery and mechanical equipment. Expect to engage with engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, Alabama. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $32.00/hr.
