- a concise overview of the job Performs reliability maintenance activities in accordance with approved procedures and implements effective corrective maintenance repairs to provide increased reliability.
Learns to identify equipment and/or process deviations and refers deviations to the supervisor. May assist a more senior technician or supervisor in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment problems. Learns to apply skills and knowledge to increase efficiency, throughput and quality. Performs work tasks in such a manner as to not waste material or time. Performs all other duties as assigned. - key outcomes/deliverables, the major responsibilities, and % of time Accountability Responsibilities % of Time Proactive Maintenance Learns and performs preventive and predictive maintenance tasks on all facilities’ equipment according to the frequency written in the SOP.
Performs condition-based monitoring while PM’s are being performed, and notes problems or changes in the comment section of the PM form. Adheres to Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies utilizing a pro-active approach to minimize equipment downtime. 50-60% Reactive Maintenance Assists with troubleshooting problems or breakdowns on all production equipment. May work on facility equipment as required. 10-20% Teamwork & Collaboration Partners with more senior technicians to learn cGMP equipment maintenance. Works with others assigned to tasks for the mutual benefit of the employer, team and individual. Participates as a team member by contributing to project success and sharing novel insights. Works on the production lines as needed. 30% Training Conforms to all training requirements, including company required and utility equipment training. Trains other technicians and operators. 10% Safety Follows all applicable SOPs, including, but not limited to, lock-out, tag-out and PPE requirements. continuously Qualifications Education & Experience Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience and certifications required for the job HS diploma or equivalent with related certification or HS diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years’ related experience Previous pharmaceutical experience preferred. Knowledge Proficiency in a body of information required for the job e.g. knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc. Knowledgeable in PLC’s, variable frequency drives, relay logic and electrical and pneumatic control circuits. Mathematical aptitude in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios and percentages. Knowledge of Metric and English weighing and measurement systems Proficient in oral and written communications/documentation Proficient in reading and writing English Proficient in the use of multi-meters Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic applications. Knowledge of CMMS systems Skills & Abilities Often referred to as “competencies”, leadership attributes, skills, abilities or behaviors that may be enterprise, functional or job specific e.g. coaching, negotiation, calibration, technical writing etc. Basic understanding and competence in all the following: Basic electricity Basic plumbing Basic construction Basic Maintenance Basic Pneumatics Ability to learn pharmaceutical maintenance and cGMP processes Ability to learn to perform PM tasks and read basic schematics, technical drawings and/or blueprints. g. lift 40 pounds, walk across plant/warehouse, business travel (% of time), driving as part of work responsibilities, etc. Must be able to stand for long periods of time (12 hour shifts) Lift at least 50 pounds Climb ladders Wear a respirator and pass associated respirator tests and/or requirements Able to wear all required PPE, including safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes Reaction Time
