We are actively seeking a

MAINTENANCE/ CUSTODIAN

As the Maintenance/ Custodian, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that Madison County 911’s new building in north Huntsville is clean, disinfected, presentable, and organized utilizing various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic, and orderly work environment for co-workers and guests visiting the facility. About 20% of your time will be spent on routine maintenance tasks like painting, replacing HVAC filters and light bulbs, plumbing, simple electrical tasks, and grounds upkeep.

CUSTODIAN DUTIES

Perform maintenance tasks, both scheduled and as needed Follow cleaning procedures and schedules Clean the interior of buildings, including oors, carpet, rugs, windows, and walls Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, oce tools, and phones Deep clean facility as needed and directed Remove debris and snow from sidewalks Empty trash and recycling bins Stock and maintain supply rooms Vacuum, sweep, and mop oors Clean/ sanitize bathrooms (toilets, sinks, and showers) Restock disposables (soap, paper towels, etc) Clean windows and mirrors Operate oor scrubbers Dust furniture and xtures Perform additional duties as required to keep the facility clean and well-maintained Occasionally perform tasks that include loading, unloading, lifting, and moving light-weight materials Notify supervisor of unsafe conditions Requirements Maintenance/janitorial experience. A High School Diploma/GED is preferred, but not required Must be self-motivated to complete work without supervision once trained. Must be able to physically lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach. Must be available to work five day shift, 40- hour work weeks, rotating weekends and holidays, to ensure time off for all teammates. Must be a US citizen.. Must have a valid Alabama Driver’s License.
