Job Description

  • This is a 2nd shift position Monday-Friday, with periodic on-call rotation
  • The primary objectives are to ensure that all mechanical and electrical devices remain at a fully functional capacity while attending to housekeeping. Continuously improve skill development, quality of work, and efficiency of work to achieve Yield, Availability, and PM Compliance goals.
  • STRUCTURE
  • The Maintenance Technician position reports to the Maintenance Group Leader.
  • GUIDELINES
  • :•+ Inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, fabricates and makes mechanical and electrical adjustments/repairs on all plant process equipment, HVAC equipment (when not outsourced), metal detection equipment, crushers, weighing equipment (when not outsourced), blending equipment, conveyors, pumps, valves, pipes, environmental systems, waste systems, fans, storage tanks, facility structures, plant pressurized air systems, fire protection systems and other equipment as may be required.

+ Performs preventive maintenance on all production equipment and systems as outlined above or otherwise assigned and ensure that proper documentation is maintained. Conducts scheduled preventive and non-emergency unscheduled maintenance as assigned. + Closely monitors pollution control equipment and reports any malfunctions immediately. Checks transformer oil level, hydraulic oil levels, inspects transformers and furnace and mold cooling systems and ensures that all auxiliary equipment is working satisfactorily and effectively. + Responsible for operation of maintenance shop equipment to include but not limited to band saws, lathes and welders in a safe manner. + Ability to understand PLC ladder logic, trouble shoot electrical problems (even in a high voltage environment), read and understand wiring diagrams, install new electrical service, program VFD’s, and wire controls. + Ability to MIG, TIG, and ARC weld, safely use grinders, saws, drills, tap and dies, mills, and other standard machine shop equipment. An understanding of basic blueprints and schematics is also required.

  • + Work safely and comply with OHSA standards in an Industrial setting. + Effective organizational, time management, and computer skills are important. + Minimum of 4 years of Industrial Maintenance experience with focus on electrical skills. + Associates Degree in Industrial Technology, Preferred + Strong desire to learn and pass knowledge on to other team members
