Sr. Maintenance Mechanic (2025-013-925) Position Available In Madison, Alabama

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for mechanicalservice call and in-house repairs throughout facility and grounds.

Performs work in one or more maintenance trade includingmillwright, basic electrical, and plumbing. Performs routineequipment maintenance and repair. Performs installation of variousfixtures. Makes periodic or special inspections of equipment,utilities and premises to determine repair work necessary. May workfrom rough sketches and drawings. Works on assignments that areextremely complex in nature where independent action and a highdegree of initiative are required in resolving problems anddeveloping recommendations. Recommends and implements ideas toimprove efficiency and/or cost savings. Executes maintenance tasksfrom written procedures or instructions. Generates StandardOperating Procedures or Work Instructions for PreventativeMaintenance for new or existing equipment utilizing manufacturer’sdata, experience or assessments. Perform preventive maintenanceprocedures on a variety of specialized pharmaceutical manufacturingand general mechanical equipment and utilities. Provides repair,fabrication, and general labor services throughout all areas.

Provides supervision and direction to external service providersperforming work on site. Provides training within specific skillset(s), to staff for the purpose of ensuring a broad base ofknowledge within the group. Documents all work performed per theappropriate documentation system. Conducts investigations forquality systems as assigned. May act as lead on a variety ofmaintenance issues. Provides other miscellaneous facilities supportas assigned. May provide on-the-job training and guidance to juniorstaff. Provide on-call service rotation with other maintenancestaff. Minimum Qualification Requirements Requires a minimum of aHigh School diploma. Equivalent experience may be accepted. Aminimum of 6 years industry experience is required. A minimum of 3years experience working in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, orsimilar industry is preferred. Thorough knowledge of FDA and GMPrequirements is a plus. Requires a working knowledge of shop mathwith an ability to read and write and utilize complicated drawingsand specifications, advanced mathematics, and a variety ofprecisions measuring instruments. Requires experience in themaintenance trades, broad trade knowledge equivalent to trainingreceived in a formal registered apprentice program. HVAC knowledgeis a plus. Process systems knowledge is preferred. Strong attentionto detail regarding documentation is a must. Good communicationskills both oral and written are a must. Must be able to followStandard Operating Procedures. Good computer skills are required.

Excellent organizational skills are required. Must have an abilityto multi-task. Physical Requirements Employees must be able to liftor handle objects greater than 25 pounds to perform certain dutiesessential to the job function. Employees may be required to performtasks essential to the job function in areas that require the useof hearing protection devices. Performance of tasks essential tothe job function may require the employee to work directly with,handle, or otherwise come into contact with chemicals orpharmaceutical agents. Employees must be able to wear a respiratoryprotection (filtering facepiece, 1/2 face, full-face, or poweredair purifying respirator, supplied air, or self-contained breathingapparatus) for certain tasks essential to the job function.

Employees must be able to gain access to elevated work surfaces viavertical ladders or stairs to perform tasks essential to the jobfunction. Employees must be able to maneuver themselves under 30inch clearances. Employees may be required to enroll in a medicalsurveillance program based on the potential exposure to certainhealth hazards encountered as a result of their job function. Mustbe able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checkfor employment consideration.
