Job Summary:

Sonoco has an opening for a full-time industrial maintenance reliability technician at our Metco plant. The primary function of this position will be to maintain the equipment used in the manufacturing process by troubleshooting and repairing when necessary. We are looking for someone who can work independently or on a team.

Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and repair production equipment such as conveyors, cutters, stampers, punches, etc. Repair and replace electrical components Repair basic plumbing issues Weld parts using MIG and TIG welding techniques Use automated systems to diagnose problems Follow proper safety procedures Maintain accurate records Participate in continuous improvement projects Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent education preferred One year of experience working in a manufacturing environment required Must have strong mechanical background, ability to read blueprints and diagrams Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move around large machines Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems Experience using basic hand tools Excellent communication skills Strong organizational skills Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check At Sonoco Products Company, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive pay and benefits.
