Are you interested in a new career? We may be looking for you! Valtir is hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician in our Pell City, AL plant for 2nd shift!
Shift:
Monday-Thursday 4:30pm – 3:00am What you’ll do: This person will install, maintain, and repair plant equipment, tooling, utility services, rolling stock, and physical plant facilities. Perform daily maintenance duties and build jigs and fixtures as needed to keep production running at acceptable levels. Wire, maintain, and repair electrically operated equipment and/or machinery. Install, maintain and repair mechanical equipment, machinery and rolling stock. Make basic installations and repairs to utility services, including electricity, natural gas, water and telephone equipment. Complete written maintenance reports and records. Obtain an OSHA accepted forklift operator’s license and operate forklifts in a safe and productive manner. Perform general housekeeping procedures such as sweeping, cleanup of spills, organizing work tools and work areas. Perform other duties as assigned. What you’ll need: A high school graduate or equivalent is preferred. A minimum of two years’ experience in maintenance of plant equipment required. Basic knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics with the ability to use this knowledge to install, maintain and repair plant equipment is required. The ability to weld and flame-cut to perform maintenance functions, as well as the ability to operate machine shop equipment is highly desirable. Ability to read, interpret and apply data derived from shop drawings, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturers instruction manuals. Use a volt-ohm-meter and other measuring equipment such as a rulers, calipers, micrometers, and feeler gauges. Operate various electric, pneumatic and other hand tools. Comprehend hazardous material warning labels and instruction, maintenance safety procedures, and plant safety rules. Must use all required safety equipment.
