Job Description
Environmental Services Floor Technician 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 900 N 7th St, West Memphis, AR 72301 Environmental Service Technician III is responsible for all floor maintenance including keeping floors cleaned, stripped, waxed, buffed, and carpet cleaned at all times. The Environmental Service Technician III is responsible for daily housekeeping and detail cleaning in assigned areas as needed by the department.
Job Duties:
To carry out and follow all facility policies and procedures in regards to the environmental services department. Understands the principles of hard surface floor maintenance and uses proper procedures on hard floor care (stripping & refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, spray buffing). Utilizes and maintains automated floor cleaning equipment according to schedule for cleaning. Uses the proper procedures on carpet and upholstering (shampooing, damp surface, extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming, cleaning baseboards, etc.). Follow instructions, established safety precautions and work with minimal supervision. Execute proper techniques of floor care and preparation of areas to be cleaned, buffed, stripped or waxed as well as carpet cleaning. Prepare all set ups with tables, chairs, and tablecloths as directed by set up diagraminstructions. Perform other duties as assigned by the Environmental Services Manager and Facility Manager in the absence of the Environmental staff. Preserve building interior by dry and wet mopping corridors and rooms, spray buffing with regular and high-speed rotors, stripping and refinishing floors, washing walls, baseboards, kick plates, ceilings, windows, lights and vents, shampooing carpets and spot cleans stains. Maintains building accessibility and appearance by picking up papers/trash external to all sites during visit. Covers essential housekeeping duties, as needed by the department Cleans windows, glass partitions, mirrors, and other glass surfaces of building interior or exterior as well as grout in restrooms and corridor. To report any fire or safety hazards at once to the Environmental Services Manager or other designated person. Conduct monthly inspections on all fire extinguishers and lights including UV, exit, and emergency lights. Periodically travel to other sites to perform hard floor and carpet maintenance according to floor care schedules
