Mechanical Maintenance Technician 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Osceola, AR 72370 RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES Maintain all plant equipment and facilities to regenerate acid and produce iron oxide; the structure of the building both internal and external; all the tanks and their structures; and the ground area around the plant.

DUTIES AND TASKS 1.

Interpret the output of various instruments, perform various system checks, including visual inspections, to determine and make necessary adjustments and repairs to maintain designated flows, temperatures, pressures, levels, concentrations, etc. 2. Remove, diagnose, rebuild, and install process pumps. 3. Lubricate equipment as required. 4. Record and maintain data as required. 5. Remove, dismantle, clean, reassemble, and replace spray nozzles. 6. Remove and/or replace air valves or fittings required to restore plant operation. 7. Weld structure, pipe, and plate using stick/electrode and MIG/wire-fed welder 8. Disconnect, remove and/or dismantle, and replace equipment requiring routine in-plant maintenance such as fans, the mill, the shaker box, the crusher, the double dumps, etc. 9. Operate heavy equipment such as boom trucks, lull trucks, forklifts, bob cats, lawn tractors, etc.. 10. Dismantle, clean, and replace iron oxide pneumatic conveying system. 11. Remove and replace process valves 12. Remove, repair, and replace process piping and fittings. 13. Interpret various mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation drawings 14. Instruct operators on shift to make necessary adjustments, up to and including shut down, to prevent serious damage to the plant, equipment, and product. 15. Train new and existing Operators on the responsibilities of this position that they can help maintain during their shift. 16. Create and complete work orders and communicate status of them. 17. Perform all necessary PMs on a timely basis. 18. Fill-in for Roaster Operator as needed. 19. Operate mill and bagging station as necessary. 20. Load and unload box trucks, flatbed trucks, and bulk tankers as needed. 21. Responsible for maintaining the 5S housekeeping plan for the plant and maintenance shop. 22. Perform related duties as assigned. Physical Requirements In the plant, employees may be exposed to noise, dust, heat, steam, and hazardous materials requiring the use of safety equipment. Occasionally will be required to use various types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to handle hazardous materials including use of a rubberized suit and respiratory apparatus. Job assignments may also vary based on daily production needs and objectives.

Climbing and Lifting Required:

Lifting and carrying up to 70#, 65-75% of the time. Rolling barrels up to 500#, 10-25% of the time. Climbing Ladders and stairs 75-90% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS A

high school diploma or equivalent is required. Requires 5+ years mechanical experience. Ability to problem solve and react in a timely manner. Must be willing to work overtime and share equally on callouts.
