The Maintenance Technician supports the plant needs regardingall production equipment, plant support equipment and buildingsystems to achieve the production plan and improve processperformance and preventive maintenance. Support and actively managetroubleshooting and preventive maintenance program to maximizeequipment availability, minimize downtime hours, and optimizeproduction. Duties are performed in a high-volume high-speedmanufacturing environment where individuals are involved withoverhauling equipment and the installation of new equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform machine and systemstroubleshooting and repair, assist engineering and plant staff withthe installation and modification of integrated systems. Providetechnical support where needed. Perform preventive maintenanceaccording to schedule to ensure equipment remains in peak operatingcondition. Perform corrective maintenance as required. Support PLC,vision, and motor software systems diagnostics. Install and modifyintegrated systems to improve upon current equipment performance.
Interface with other departments to provide and obtain informationnecessary to complete assigned equipment maintenance, changeover,testing and return to operation. Maintain records to documenttesting and operation of equipment in a CMMS. Maintain assignedequipment and work areas in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
Coordinate activities to ensure departmental compliance to allFederal, State, Local and Company regulatory requirements. Theseelements include FDA, EPA, OSHA, ISO, EEOC and Company policiesrelative to the manufacture of product, lot control requirements,documentation requirements, housekeeping, preventive maintenance,associate training, and safety (equipment, associate, andmaterial). Perform these and other duties as necessary or required,the inclusion of which will not alter the basic scope of theposition. Work on special projects as they arise. Activelydemonstrate support through interactions with solid communicationskills, attitude, dedication, commitment, respect, pride, andtrust. Quals Knowledge and Skills Practical knowledge of PLC logic,vision inspection systems and motor controls. Must be able to readand understand procedures, electrical schematics, blueprints, andsketches. Solid computer skills (MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)).CMMS experience required. Excellent verbal/written communicationand customer service skills Highly disciplined, problem-solver,logical thinking, troubleshooting team player with a strong workethic. Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
Demonstrate ability to manipulate various hand and power toolssafely and competently. Strong mechanical aptitude needed. MinimumQualifications, Education and Experience High School diploma orequivalent required. Minimum of five years of work experience as afacilities maintenance controls technician on automated assemblyequipment. Must be 18 years of age. Work Environment Work isperformed in a clean room environment. While performing the dutiesof this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for longperiods of time, depending on the machine. Required to use computeror touch screen to enter work order data. Must be able tooccasionally move and lift objects of up to 35lbs. Typicallyrequires travel less than 5% of the time.
