This position requires a proactive individual with strong leadership and project management skills, capable of overseeing various maintenance tasks and coordinating facility-related projects. Must be able to work a weekend day, Sunday – Wednesday OR Wednesday – Saturday. Responsibilities Oversee daily facility operations, ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards. Manage facility projects from inception to completion, including planning, execution, and evaluation. Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts as needed to maintain equipment functionality. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and project progress. Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized services when necessary. Performs day-to-day maintenance tasks including but not limited to changing light bulbs, small plumbing repairs, painting, and moving furniture. Ensures and documents inspections, tests, and routine maintenance of equipment and building systems including but not limited to the fire alarm system, fire extinguishers, the generator, furnace, grease trap, are performed appropriately, and that all are in working order. Maintains cleanliness in attic, boiler room, basement, and maintenance areas Installs common room, office areas, and resident room air conditioning units seasonally Assists in snow removal as needed Assists with maintenance of the grounds as needed. Other duties as assigned Ensure that all facility operations align with company policies and procedures. Other Duties and Responsibilities Performs other duties and responsibilities, as required, to support our mission of providing, “to self-sufficient women over the age of 60, a residence that is safe and nurturing in a family-like atmosphere”. Uses personal protective equipment and practices safe work methods Attends in-service and other training as requested May be required to work weekends, holidays, or evenings Complies with the resident Bill of Rights Maintains residents’ confidentiality and respects privacy; treats residents with dignity and respect at all times Experience At least five years’ experience in maintenance is required, where knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in building maintenance. Required Skills and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Requires the ability to lift and carry maintenance supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis, prolonged walking or standing, and frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching daily. Requires the ability to access facilities and areas which may only be accessible by climbing stairs or by climbing ladders to a height of 15 feet (e.g., to change a lightbulb). Must be able to move throughout assigned areas Required knowledge of heating systems Skill in the proper operation of maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and habits, ability to multitask Must speak and understand English; must be able to hear and respond to pages Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Reliable form of transportation to be used for trips to a hardware store as needed Qualifications Proven experience in industrial maintenance or a related field is essential. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various systems effectively. Experience in project management with a track record of successfully completing projects on time and within scope. Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively. Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills are required. Familiarity with HVAC systems, voltmeters, logic controllers, and general fabrication techniques is preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
