Seasonal Pool Maintainer (Entry) 2.3 2.3 out of 5 stars 465 Heritage Road, Southbury, CT 06488

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring the safety of the aquatic facilities, providing a clean and healthy environment for patrons and guests to swim and socialize.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Preventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations. Maintains positive Public Relations at the pools and answers resident questions. Monitors and tests pool water reports any abnormalities. Cleaning and maintaining pools, pool areas, bath houses, furniture, and all other pool related items and facilities. Weeding around pool deck and the entire pool area. Complete records and reports. Informs the Lead Public Facilities Maintainer when supplies are needed, or equipment needs repair or replacement. Unlocks pools and bathhouses as scheduled. Secures all gates and doors at pool closing. Reports patrons who violate state health codes and rules and regulations established for pool usage. Randomly checks identification and verifies residency. Maintains proper First Aid Kit supplies. Assisting residents as needed.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Performs tasks as assigned by the Director of Recreational Services or the Maintenance Coordinator when pools are closed due to temporary weather conditions or when all pool related work has been completed, or if a need arises that calls for extra staff.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

: An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures. Decision-making skills. Ability to complete assigned tasks within scheduled work shift. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and email.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, swim, talk and listen. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and use fingers to operate equipment and cleaning implements, and other tools. Frequently, the employee will lift and/or move over twenty-five pounds and up to sixty pounds, and occasionally will lift or move over one hundred pounds, with assistance of others. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with several concrete choices in standardized situations and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid state of Connecticut Driver’s license and have transportation between pools.
