QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED; supplemented by two or more years of custodial experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record and access to transportation
- Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening and drug screening
- May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Building maintenance, repairs, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) experience
- Experience with disability-service and multi-division organizations.
- In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

JOB SUMMARY
- Responsible for the care, upkeep, maintenance and cleaning of assigned buildings and related facilities.
Troubleshoots maintenance issues or equipment failures, performs minor repairs, and responds to calls for service. Resolves problems to ensure operations. Work is performed under limited supervision with moderate latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Exercises judgment to determine if outside professional support is needed for repair and maintenance issues. Position relies on experience to determine the best approach by using and interpreting policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need
- Performs and assists with building maintenance tasks involving carpentry, painting, plumbing, heating, electrical and mechanical work
- Conducts minor lawn maintenance as needed to include weeding, hedge trimming, and landscaping
- Conducts daily facility opening and closing activities as directed; responds to alarms as necessary
- Performs plumbing repairs on valves, pipes, drains, sinks, toilets, faucets, and related equipment
- Operates various power and hand tools
- Maintains tools and equipment
- Provides back up for Facilities Technician I and custodial position as needed
- Documents custodial and maintenance needs throughout the day; addresses issues or escalates to appropriate staff as needed
- Completes assigned work orders in an accurate and timely manner
- Completes other repairs, maintenance or construction duties as assigned
- Provides back up for the custodial position as needed
- Performs special projects as required (
Example:
painting, pressure washing, minor landscaping, etc.)
- Assists with maintenance and facility repair and improvement projects.

- Knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Skill in adapting to a changing work environment, competing demands and ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Demonstrate to others the proper use of tools and equipment
- Operate a forklift, floor scrubbers and carpet shampooers
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Organizational skills
- Communication skills both orally and in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks occasionally involve physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds).Tasks may involve some climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
