POSITION SUMMARY

The Pensacola Saenger Theatre’s Part-Time Maintenance Tech maintains, in good working condition, all facility equipment, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical plants; lighting and climate control systems, maintenance/cleaning equipment by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage spare/critical parts inventory. Perform various project management activities. Help ensure there are zero safety occurrences. Knowledge and understanding of related safety procedures and practices of power equipment and tools Strong analytical and solid problem-solving skills and use of sound judgment Able to work effectively in a service-oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities. Complete daily maintenance and repair logs, and enter into computerized maintenance management system.

Perform plumbing work orders:

unplug sinks, toilets, and drain lines, repair or replace valves, replace washer, gaskets, vacuum breakers, toilet seals. Perform regular inspections of the grounds, buildings, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment; reports all needed repairs to Operations Manager. Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies. Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repairs involving the following: Electrical and plumbing A/C and heating systems Appliances Stairs, gates, fences, railing Tile, carpet, flooring Roofing, gutters, fasteners Interior and exterior lights Ceiling leaks Able to learn the operations, maintenance, upkeep, and functions of the theatre. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance. Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.

Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required Able to interact with all levels of staff including management. Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic Have computer skills to operate Operations System or other automated systems. Enjoy working with people. Dependable team player Enthusiastic self-starter Ability to learn new skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required Previous custodial experience and/or experience in a service related field preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Have strong attention to detail, with the ability and initiative to maintain the facility. Physical ability to perform the duties required of this position including operation of cleaning equipment; walking up & down stairs; lift, set and move equipment including all tables, chairs, easels, risers, pipe & drape, and related items. Able to understand, speak, read, and write English. Able to operate two-way radio equipment. Able to interact with guests, vendors, and staff in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner. Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Reach with arms and hands to finger, handle, or manipulate hardware and equipment. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or occasionally more with assistance. Work inside and outside the building is required, with possible exposure to adverse conditions. Must be able to utilize a two-way radio. Work flexible hours, including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays. The employee must be able lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
