We are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician I for our Port of Tampa terminal facility. This hourly position will report directly to the Terminal Manager. Responsibilities
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to all safety policies rules and regulations (Titan & OSHA). Participates in or leads required safety trainings and meetings. Communicates well with all terminal personnel; be a team player. Perform all required safety checks before performing any maintenance work. While plant is running, perform visual inspection routes for deficiencies and document. Advanced welding and torching experience; ability to improve equipment designs when necessary. Performs all work in a manner to maximize safety, efficiency, and quality. Knowledge of hardware sizes, general mechanics, hand tools, power tools, and repair practices. Lead coworkers or contractors in complex repairs to the plant and other systems on site. Have in-depth knowledge or training of compressors, blowers, conveyors, belts, bearings, screws, and other cement and aggregate processing equipment. Perform preventative maintenance work on fixed and mobile equipment. Leads troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment issues. Identifies and communicates efficiently with Manager and recommends repair strategy. Leads Root Cause Analysis (RCA) regarding equipment, processes, and incidents. Develop and maintain records of work performed to assist in tracking equipment history. Operates hand-help radio according to company policy and FCC regulations. May assist with truck, railcar & ship loading and unloading as necessary. May be scheduled to work nights and weekends. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and on-the-job training. Maintain a current Florida Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record. Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card 3 years of experience in mechanical repair, installation, and construction in a plant or industrial environment. Certification in industrial maintenance a plus. Advanced welding skills, certification a plus. Must have a working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as well as the use of all shop equipment such as welding and torching equipment. Intermediate Microsoft Office applications knowledge and CMMS experience preferred. Basic knowledge of mathematics and fractions for hardware. Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards, OSHA regulations, and of related safety practices. Knowledge of principles and practices used to diagnose equipment issues. Ability to interpret service manuals, diagrams, and schematics. Ability to task train other personnel and lead repair jobs. Physical job requirements include working outdoors with exposure to extreme heat and cold, constant standing and walking, climbing, working from heights, and ability to lift to 50lbs.
