Maintenance Technician Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County Stuart, FL 34997 PRIMARY
FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Facilities & Transportation Manager, the Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the club and club vehicles, paying particular attention to physical conditions, safety, and cleanliness. The responsibilities of this position include facility maintenance and custodial duties at a home base club and will assist at other clubs when necessary.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES
1. Conducts general maintenance and minor repairs on systems such as lighting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, including, but not limited to, changing bulbs and assembling or mounting equipment and furniture. Maintains the appearance and safety of facilities and groundsthrough pressure washing, painting, trash removal, and regular inspections. Supports events and daily operationsby setting up and breaking down furniture and equipment, and cleaning club vehicles as needed. Performs custodial and cleaning duties including, but not limited to, sanitation of common areas, restocking supplies, waste management, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms, classrooms, windows, and floors. Follows all safety and compliance guidelines to ensure a secure and hazard-free environment. Responds to emergency situations to resolve and prevent injuries or hazardous conditions and prepares work-site safety setup. Make trips when requested to transport donations, equipment and supplies between facilities Responds promptly to maintenance requests and custodial needs reported by staff or site leads. Responsible for submitting daily Maintenance Activity logs. Collaborates effectively with the facilities team and communicates clearly with site managers/leaders. Monitors inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies, reporting needs for restocking. Oversees contractors and vendors while on-site, ensuring work is completed to organizational standards, safety protocols are followed, and access to facilities is properly monitored. Travels to and supports other sites as assigned, maintaining consistent service standards across locations. Drives bus and/or shuttle vehicles when necessary to supplement driver’s scheduling. Completes other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- High School diploma or GED (or working towards).
- Knowledge of basic maintenance, carpentry, plumbing and minor repairs.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently and prioritize maintenance needs.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to other sites as needed.
- Knowledge of and ability to use materials, methods and equipment used in general maintenance work.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record that meets the standards of our driving policy.
- Valid CDL with Bus & Passenger Endorsements preferred .
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Maintain close, daily contact with Facilities & Transportation Manager, Club Directors, and additional staff as needed to complete assignments.
External:
Maintain contact as needed with external groups and vendors.
