The ideal candidate will have expertise in day-to-day house maintenance and report to the Facilities Manager. We need someone living in Miami or surrounding areas as this will allow the quickest and easiest access to the Bahamas property. Other areas of FL will be considered but the greater Miami area is strongly preferred. No out of state candidates will be considered, only those residing or moving to FL. When not working onsite in the Bahamas, Vermont, or Montreal, the position will be REMOTE.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day running of residential properties to maintain standards and efficiency. Handyman services, basic electrical and mechanical work around the property. Conducting regular property inspections and taking care of maintenance, renovations, and repairs. Purchasing and ordering equipment and parts. Management of external contractors for more specialized tasks, including quotes analysis, negotiation, and documents filing. Managing priorities and providing progress updates to management Answering to emergencies.
Requirements:
10+ years of experience as a carpenter, construction worker, laborer, or other similar role Familiarity with power tools and machinery along with air conditioning / HVAC, electrical heating, pool maintenance, etc. Contractor and/or construction licences is highly preferred. Experience in hands-on household work and knowledge of all areas of property maintenance, including outsourcing when needed. Excellent English communication skills. Experience working with Microsoft suite (emails and word and excel) Energetic with a strong work ethic and sense of initiative. Ability to anticipate the needs of the employer and exceed expectations. Professional, polished, discreet, and always maintain confidentiality. Honest and committed individual who is a self-starter.
Additional Information:
Available on-call for security or emergency issues. Need to be available to work on weekends when required
