Maintenance Technician (weekends only) Amelia Island Getaways Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Maintenance Technician with strong organizational, time management, and communication skills to join our team at Amelia Island Getaways. Job Responsibilities Respond to maintenance issues at vacation rental properties during scheduled weekend shifts and on-call weekday assignments. Use our mobile property management app to review maintenance tickets, access property details, and track completion of work. Perform a wide range of maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: Troubleshooting HVAC and appliance issues (e.g., oven, refrigerator, microwave, air conditioner). Troubleshooting Wi-Fi and internet connectivity issues, including restarting modems/ routers and coordinating with service providers if needed. Plumbing and electrical repairs. Resolving guest access issues (e.g., door code malfunctions, lockouts). Inspecting and addressing leaks, pest control issues, and malfunctioning fixtures (e.g., sliding doors, ceiling leaks). Deep cleaning or coordinating cleaning for pools or other amenity-related needs. Communicate unresolved or complex issues to the Lead Technician and/or Owner. Ensure high-quality workmanship and follow safety guidelines. Keep properties clean after performing work. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working condition. Collaborate with vendors and contractors to oversee the execution of high-quality, specialized repairs beyond standard maintenance tasks. Qualifications Local applicants only – within 30 minutes of Fernandina Beach. Knowledge of Amelia Island is required to understand geography and properties. Must have a basic working knowledge of general repair skills, including painting, electrical, and plumbing: HVAC certification is a plus. Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities, or vacation rentals preferred. Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and work with little to no supervision. Must be able to consistently work under pressure and simultaneously prioritize multiple projects. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities. Must display very good organization and time management skills. Ability to troubleshoot and repair general home systems and appliances. Comfortable using a mobile app for work assignments and reporting. Strong attention to detail and customer service mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be available to work weekends and rotate into an on-call weekday schedule. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Must be able to stay organized, handle multiple responsibilities, and maintain strong attention to detail while working on property. Compensation Hourly:
