Responsibilities & Duties:
Building Maintenance All maintenance work will be performed in a neat and orderly manner. Use lockout/tagout at all times when required. Clean and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains. Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment and related systems. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and that the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate. Perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs to ensure that the building is properly maintained. Plant Maintenance (Equipment & Machinery) All maintenance work will be performed in a neat and orderly manner. Use lockout/tagout at all times when required. Install, repair, upgrade, adjust, maintain or clean equipment & machinery, including forklifts. Perform periodic preventative maintenance inspections with a physical walk-thru and communicate with all levels of plant personnel. Maintain work and shop area and stock tools, parts and supplies. Complete written record of work performed. Communicate with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure stocking levels of repair parts are maintained. Work in conjunction with Maintenance and Department Leads to establish light-duty maintenance work performed by machine operators. Job Requirements Follow procedures and document work performed. Strong knowledge and application of basic and power tools. Strong troubleshooting skills, must be able to quickly diagnose a problem and formulate a resolution. Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic background. Must be self-motivated as most work falls on the individual. On call 24 hours during plant operations. Must have reliable transportation Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; use of PPE’s when appropriate as per OSHA requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and walking. Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery. Must be able to visually inspect machines. Climb ladders. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Usually work indoors, but may on occasion work outdoors in extreme weather, repairing foundations and exteriors. Often wear protective attire, such as work gloves, eyewear, back support, and sturdy boots. Work in hazardous situations or with hazardous equipment often. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Qualifications Mechanical and Electrical systems. 3 Phase Electricity. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment. Carpentry skills, welding and cutting. Proficient in the use of hand tools, and power tools. Trouble shooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and able to multitask. Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, and technical manuals. Experience in building/industrial maintenance or a related trade. Knowledge in PVC extrusion and injection molding equipment is a plus. (extruders, water systems, and injection molding presses).
