Kitchen Maintenance Technician The Westin Sarasota 100 Marina View Drive, Sarasota, FL 34236

Position Summary:

The Kitchen Technician is responsible for ensuring that the hotel kitchen equipment is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to customers and team members.

Perform general maintenance on all equipment (i.e. boilers, chillers, HVAC – Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.). 2. Take required readings on equipment. 3. Replace and repair pumps. 4. Perform plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc.). 5. Trace and repair all types of water lines. 6. Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment. 7. Maintain repair and preventative maintenance records. 8. Perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes. 9. Greet all guests encountered on the hotel property. Follow proper procedures for entry into guest rooms. 10. Perform all duties required as a Fire Alarm Response Team member. 11. In depth knowledge of all kitchen equipment maintenance. Diagnostic knowledge and ability to make the necessary repairs and or services. 12. Must be able to work with “Hot” and “Cold” equipment.

Qualifications:
Education:

High school diploma or GED plus 2 years hotel/resort experience or trade school or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the above skills, knowledge and ability.

Experience:

At least 10 years in kitchen maintenance.

  • Physical requirements – heavy work at times – exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of computers is helpful.
  • Possess a good command of the English language to communicate with guests and fellow team members.
