QUESTIONS
Summary The Maintenance Technician is a civilian position responsible for performing a variety of maintenance duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Maintenance Technician will perform repair and maintenance duties of the facilities including but not limited to the following: Plumbing and or electrical duties.
Preventive maintenance checks on assigned equipment/structures and report those in need of repair.
Maintains an adequate inventory of parts (materials) and equipment.
Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory of plumbing, electrical and general maintenance supplies.
Performs other related duties as assigned. Education, Training and Experience The Maintenance Technician should possess, at a minimum, a High School Diploma or GED; with a minimum of 3 years of experience in plumbing or electrical work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Licenses/Certifications:
Required to possess a valid State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving history.
Certification in any of the following disciplines desired:
HVAC
Plumbing
Electrical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The Maintenance Technician must be knowledgeable of the following principles, procedures, and concepts: Skill in oral and written communication in order to give or exchange information, resolve problems, and/or provide service.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
Knowledge of safety standards related to the operation of light and heavy equipment.
Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security of private or confidential information. Ability to work effectively with members of all levels within the organization and public. Ability to show good judgment, consistency, timeliness and respect in decision-making.
