How you will make an impact: We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician, Sterile Operations with an emphasis on electrical expertise to support the maintenance and troubleshooting of specialized sterilization equipment. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our sterilization systems, which are essential for our production and operational processes. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical skills in electrical systems, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex machinery, with a focus on sterilization equipment.

Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Diagnosis:

Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repair of sterilization equipment and other specialized machinery (vacuum, RF, magnets, etc), with a focus on high voltage electrical systems. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, high vacuum, deionized water system, or hydraulic issues related to sterilization and support equipment. Use advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve electrical issues, including wiring, control systems, sensors, and other electrical components of sterilization equipment. Proactively identify and resolve technical and process shortcomings to improve operational performance, quality, and costs.

Preventive Maintenance:

Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime with minimal disruption to production schedules and extend the life of sterilization systems. Ensure equipment is being calibrated to meet operational and quality standards.

Compliance, Safety and Documentation:

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, FDA, cGMP), ensuring the safety of both personnel and equipment. Maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements. Assist with writing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment use and maintenance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs while ensuring management is provided critical information as needed.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the operations, production, and quality teams to ensure equipment is running at peak performance. Provide guidance and technical expertise to junior technicians. Responsible for the timely requisitioning of required supplies from appropriate sources to meet post-production schedules relative to the current JIT objectives. Collaborate with and provide information to, various internal teams and key stakeholders to address any technical concerns that arise.

Equipment Upgrades:

Assist in the installation, calibration, and upgrading of new or existing sterilization systems as needed. Keep inventory of spare parts and order replacements as needed. Provide technical support and training to equipment users, helping them understand proper operation and maintenance procedures. Respond promptly to service requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal downtime. Participate in training and professional development to stay updated on the latest technological advancements and maintenance techniques for sterilization equipment. The skills and experience you’ll need: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related field, is preferred. Licensed Electrician or equivalent certification preferred. Additional certifications in industrial maintenance or equipment-specific certifications are a plus. Navy Electrician experience preferred. Working knowledge of digital and analog circuitry Proficient use of diagnostic instrumentation and equipment such as DVMs, Oscilloscopes, etc Experience working with vacuum, pneumatic, hydraulic, and water-cooling systems preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, with at least 3 years of specialized experience in electrical maintenance. Ability and appropriate clearance to travel domestically and internationally. Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and control systems. Proficient in reading electrical/mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting complex machinery, particularly sterilization systems. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated control systems is preferred. Can be available to respond to maintenance calls off shift if assistance is needed and must be available for overtime as needed. Don’t meet every single requirement? Apply anyway.
