Day Shift Description:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician (FMT) is responsible for maintaining Mercy Care buildings, ensuring compliance with legal codes and health standards. Key responsibilities include operating HVAC systems, performing preventive maintenance and repairs on various facility systems, and coordinating day-to-day maintenance tasks. The FMT works with the Facilities Manager to manage outside contractors and maintain inspection records. This role requires responding to emergency calls, which may involve evening and weekend work. The ideal candidate should be professional, customer-focused, and possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
What You Will Do:
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Operate and monitor HVAC systems and the Building Automation System (BAS). Conduct general maintenance tasks, including light bulb replacements, drywall repairs, and exterior property upkeep (e.g., pressure washing). Manage preventive maintenance contracts for HVAC, elevators, alarms, pest control, and other facility equipment. Coordinate cleaning and trash removal services. Serve as the primary contact for facility-related emergencies, including responding to fire, HVAC, and security alarms, even during weekends or holidays. Perform facility inspections and submit reports with recommended actions. Ensure compliance with city, county, and state regulations. Maintain fire evacuation plans, disaster response plans, and up-to-date records of inspections and warranties. Participate in community events and work one Saturday per month as needed. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Three to five years of relevant maintenance experience. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and stand for extended periods. Knowledge of general building maintenance, mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, and fleet services.
