The schedule is Monday through Friday with rotating call on nights & weekends every 4-5 weeks. The Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Fifth Group Restaurants’ equipment and building systems. This includes kitchen equipment (electric and gas cooking equipment, refrigerated equipment, work tables, fabricated items), mechanical systems (including plumbing fixtures, grease traps, HVAC systems, Kitchen Exhaust Hoods, gas lines) and all other facility related items (electrical, painting, lighting, flooring). Locations of work include a central support office, an event facility, multiple restaurant locations, a catering production facility, as well as a fabrication warehouse and shop. The technician will occupy their time responding to service tickets as requested by store managers, chefs, and supervisors. While much of the technician’s time will be spent in an unsupervised activity, dispatching and oversight will come from Facilities Maintenance Manager, ultimately reporting to the Director of Facilities. Many tasks will involve working with another technician, so strong teamwork is a must. The R&M Technician will be responsible for upkeep of a valid GA driver’s license, as traveling between locations regularly is mandatory at all times. R&M Technicians should have their own tools, and working knowledge of HVAC/R, simple mechanical systems, and basic electrical safety. The technician will be communicating throughout the day with a variety of personnel including restaurant managers, chefs, corporate representatives, and vendors from various trades. It is imperative this employee demonstrates excellent communication skills and a highly professional demeanor. Specific Areas Of Responsibility Maintenance and repair of: Equipment Heating, air conditioning and exhaust systems and their subsystems Water Heaters Refrigeration and ice machines All other kitchen/cooking equipment to include Ranges, Ovens, Steam Kettles, Grills & Broilers, Convection Ovens, Fryers etc. Buildings Maintain physical building structures. Interior and exterior painted or stained surfaces, sheetrock, and plaster; drywall, ceiling and tile repair. Water lines, storm drainage, and gas lines. Plumbing fixtures, plumbing lines, and grease and waste lines. Common mechanical and electrical devices. Installs, repairs and maintains outlets, fixtures, lamps, bulbs, switches, toilets, drains, doors, locks, windows, curtains, etc. Responsible for all facets of fire, health, and safety compliance. Maintains all life safety preventive maintenance devices. Manage all R&M inventories including tools and parts. Maintain up to date tool and parts list. Maintain required par stock levels of all preventive maintenance materials. Ongoing/regular walk thru of all units. Knowledge, skills, and abilities Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, carpentry, and general maintenance functions Excellent project management – prioritization and organization Acute troubleshooting and problem solving Identify problems, diagnosed causes and determined efficient corrective actions and long term strategies. Excellent at completing projects Excellent communication skills with unit managers for updates and with teammates for efficiency Clean driving record Individual must be able to manage multiple projects at once HVAC/R licensing highly preferred
