Summary:
We are seeking an in-house Field Service Technician to join our service department. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining CNC equipment at client sites across the country as well, but this job will focus on local support and minimal travel – perfect for a Field Tech who wants to stop travelling! The technician will troubleshoot Press Brake issues, provide customer guidance, build strong client relationships, and ensure compliance with company procedures. Close collaboration with the sales team is essential to meet customer needs. While technical expertise is crucial, the ideal candidate is also organized, structured, and customer-oriented.
Required Skills:
Completion of Mechanical or Trade School, or 4+ years of relevant in-field experience in service and repair. 1-2 years of field service experience involving mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. Competency in metal Forming, Manufacturing, Engineering, or similar – detail relevant exp in pitch Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals. Proficiency with mechanical, electrical, and testing tools. Experience with machine tool repairs or similar equipment. Ability to pass mechanical and electrical assessments. Capability to lift up to 75 pounds. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Competency in computer applications, including word processing, Excel, and CAD software.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with 3-D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD). Experience in sheet metal or fabrication. Prior training or instructional experience. Fluency in Spanish, French, or German.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose technical issues and determine appropriate solutions. Collaborate with internal teams and share relevant information. Perform on-site repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and software components. Support equipment installation, start-up, and testing. Provide detailed reports on customer interactions and service activities. Follow all company procedures and safety protocols. Train customer personnel on equipment operation, safety, and preventative maintenance to enhance productivity. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
