Job Summary Responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaningtasks completed in a safe, professional manner. Must take extraprecautions when working in patient/resident care areas andspecifically keep tools out of the reach of children. Must possessbasic mechanical knowledge and show competence in the use of handtools, meters, measuring devices and gauges. Ability to work fromblueprints, schematics and technical manuals helpful. Must be ableto explain conditions and situations accurately whiletroubleshooting, and function with safety, moral end efficiency ofthe department in mind. Ability to work all shifts and hours asscheduled. Must comply with all corporate and facility policies anddress code. Must understand written and verbal communications. Goodwritten and oral communications skills required. Worksindependently with minimal supervision. Must have knowledge offederal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances.
Depending on facility size, additional duties may include but arenot limited to: perform installation and maintenance of mechanicaland stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure asafe and efficient environment; maintain campus grounds and performother outside maintenance duties; perform general duties such aselectrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair andmaintenance. May require on-call duties as needed or as directed bythe department. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalentpreferred. Trade school or vocational school preferred. Minimum oftwo years experience in building systems preferred. Depending onlocation, a valid driver’s license and a good driving record may berequired.
