Job Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform routine preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system malfunctions. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or wiring, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment, connections, and functionality. Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to understand equipment operation and maintenance requirements. Operate welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and structures. Use diagnostic tools and equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and pressure gauges, to identify and resolve technical issues. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory. Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to production schedules. Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency and reliability. Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs and procedures. Respond to emergency maintenance requests and perform unscheduled repairs as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or similar role. Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, including blueprints, schematics, and manuals. Knowledge of various industrial equipment and machinery, such as pumps, motors, conveyors, and production machines. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Welding and fabrication skills. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions.
Education and Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT)) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and/or move heavy objects. Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods. Ability to work in various positions, including bending, stooping, and crouching. Ability to work in potentially noisy and hot environments. Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Working Conditions:
Work may be performed in indoor or outdoor settings. Exposure to industrial environments, including machinery, noise, and potential hazards. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. May be required to work overtime or weekends as needed.
