General Maintenance/Locksmith Technician 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 800 Gsw State University Dr, Americus, GA 31709 This position is responsible for general maintenance & repairs and will apprentice with the locksmith to learn about the installation, repair and maintenance of campus doors and locks along with our key system. Success in this position ensures safe and well-maintained facilities for students, employees, and visitors Responsibilities Performs general maintenance and repairs. (50%) Installs banners. Changes light bulbs. Changes batteries in smoke detectors. Cleans off roofs and gutters. Assists with various campus set-ups. Installs and repairs doors, locks, and hardware. (40%) Installs doors and hardware. Maintains doors, door hardware and locks for manual, automatic, and electronic doors. Fabricates hardware and lock parts as needed. Cuts keys and re-combinates locks. Monitors the work of contractors in the installation, maintenance, and repair of doors and locks. Develops plans and manages key inventory. (5%) Issues keys to faculty and staff; maintains secure inventory of keys. Develops work schedules and plans to accomplish tasks. Researches and gathers information concerning security systems. Develops specifications for doors, locks, hardware and security systems. Maintains locksmith shop. (5% 5% ) Maintains shop and equipment. Maintains equipment, parts and supply inventory. Researches and gathers information concerning security systems. Develops specifications for doors, locks, hardware and security systems Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver¿s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
