Maintenance Technician 2.1 2.1 out of 5 stars 1198 Shattuck Industrial Blvd, LaFayette, GA 30728 Labrie is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our 1st (6:00 am to 4:30 pm) shift for Monday thru Friday with Some Saturday’s. This is an onsite fulltime position.
JOB SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Maintain and improve facilities per the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. Bilingual is a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform highly diversified duties to install, maintain and troubleshoot production machines, the facility, and its equipment. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Perform structurally sound welding fabrication (MIG, stick and gas) in various locations and positions on various metals for new and existing equipment. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Perform work operating various machines such as drill presses, grinders, plasma & oxy/acetylene torches, cutting equipment (i.e. chop, band saws), pneumatic tools and electric/manual hand tools Perform pipe fitting of threaded pipe of various sizes, both prefabricated and field runs. Comply with and promote all safety regulations. Ensure that all work performed meets required codes (OSHA, City and Federal) and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves and aprons. Responsible for proper care/cleaning/storage of tools, parts, materials and work area. Use a variety electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Report tracking information for electronic records on all maintenance and repairs to machines and facility to the Maintenance Supervisor. Interact with other Labrie employees in the spirit of a team environment. Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
High school education/GED required. Valid driver’s license required. Skills with (but not limited to) Windows-based computer and company-specific ERP/maintenance tracking systems Skills with diagnostic and measuring equipment. Ability to define problems through the collection of data and facts, and draw valid, thorough conclusions. Initiative in completing assigned projects. Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively understand job instructions. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Other education and experience in related fields may be considered in place of the above requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. Ability to work at heights necessary in support of the machinery and facility. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. There is some potential for accidents; exposure to multiple recognized health hazards is also possible.
