JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment within our manufacturing facility. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical systems, a proactive approach to maintenance, and the ability to identify and resolve issues to ensure the continuous operation of machinery and equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment, including motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and HVAC systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with equipment, machinery, and systems to identify the root cause and implement effective solutions. Inspect, repair, and replace mechanical components such as bearings, belts, chains, couplings, and seals. Monitor and adjust equipment settings, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with production teams to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. Install, align, and calibrate new machinery or mechanical components as needed. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, parts used, and downtime. Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with company safety policies and regulations. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Respond to emergency breakdowns, performing quick and effective repairs to minimize operational disruptions. Ensure proper use of maintenance tools and equipment and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
1-3 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician or related, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and mechanical schematics. Proficient in the use of mechanical hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance machinery. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate from a trade school in related field.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
