General Summary The Maintenance Tech 2 works mainly outdoors at BREC parks and facilities. Performs general maintenance duties as assigned and may be required to drive pickup truck and trailer.

Valid LA Driver’s License Years Relevant Work Experience:
One (1) year related to specific area of hire
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Specialized experience in specific field of hire (Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, Welding, Tree Care, Horticulture, Sports Turf, Grounds Maintenance)
Ability to operate maintenance equipment and motorized vehicles.
Ability to read and write the English Language
Ability to adjust to changing work demands, procedures, technology, and/or priorities
Ability to perform manual and skilled labor in various weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs., occasionally
Ability to follow simple oral & written instructions
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Functions and Duties Essential Functions and Duties:
Operates variety of commercial type equipment including, but not limited to; riding mowers, trucks, trailers, tractors with various attachments, aerifiers, blowers, pressure washer, powered hand tools, and other related maintenance equipment in order to maintain parks, athletic fields, and other facilities.
Repairs and maintains playground equipment, athletic field maintenance and set-up, and performs other repairs as directed.
Levels park surfaces, digs/fills ditches, loads dirt/sand/gravel/brush/debris and other materials onto trucks.
Cut/load/remove tree limbs.
Drives trucks and trailers loaded with equipment from site to site.
Assists trades or other specialized staff with repairs as directed.
Assisting other personnel as directed by supervisor.
Other duties as assigned. Supplemental Information As scheduled, generally 40 hours per week; meal break as needed. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of a completed application.
