In this entry-level role, you will support the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities. This position is ideal for someone with a mechanical mindset, looking to grow their skills in a fast-paced industrial or utilities setting. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and minor adjustments on mechanical systems including pumps, engines, generators, valves, conveyors, mixers, dryers, and more. Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems. Replace or install facility components such as lights, windows, doors, tiles, and locks. Operate vehicles and equipment for plant operations and perform general cleaning of equipment and grounds. Learn to estimate time and materials for basic repair and maintenance projects. Support team initiatives and assume new responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. 6 months to 2 years of related experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret manuals, specifications, and blueprints.
Technical Skills:
Basic mechanical aptitude with some vocational training preferred. Ability to read meters, gauges, and digital displays. Experience with hand, power, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools preferred. Familiarity with maintenance software (CMMS) is a plus.
Certifications & Licenses:
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required. Forklift certification (if required by site). Must meet site-specific requirements including PPE use, confined space training, and
HAZWOPER
certification (as needed). Willingness to pursue trade licenses (HVAC, Electrician, Plumber) if applicable. Work Environment & Physical Requirements 100% of time in an operational/industrial setting, including exposure to outdoor elements. Must be able to walk up to 75% of the shift, stand for extended periods, and lift 50-60 lbs. Frequent use of ladders, catwalks, and hand tools at elevated or confined locations. Potential exposure to dust, chemicals, loud noise, heat/cold, and slippery or uneven surfaces. Participation in rotational 24-hour emergency on-call duty may be required. Why Join Us?
