A little about the position:

Job Summary The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for maintaining production equipment, facilities, and preventive maintenance . Starting pay is $21.17 per hour.

Some of What You Will Do:

+ Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. + Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. + Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. + Design and fabricate supporting structures to include but not limited to, frames, tables, workstation aids, etc. + Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. + Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges. + Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. + Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. + Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. + Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. + Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. + Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. + Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks. + Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. + Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. + Carefully read manuals and diagrams of equipment and interpret them to understand how to operate and maintain them properly. + Prioritize daily work orders according to their level of performance. + Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance. + Maintain inventory levels and stock of replacement parts for shop equipment. + Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. + Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned. (Qualifications) + 2 – 5 years manufacturing maintenance experience. + Knowledge of mechanical maintenance process. + Good overall understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems as well as HVAC, fluid pumps, air motors, etc. Certification(s) a plus! + Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctioning. + Possess the discipline to execute tasks without supervision &/or procrastination. + Good time management to work at a good pace, executing work orders and demands. + Ability to handle and operate a variety of tools and heavy equipment including but not limited to, hand tools, power tools, air tools, forklift scissor lift and telehandler. + Knowledge of safety precautions. + Good human relations to relate cordially with all team members.
