Building Maintenance Tech/Electrician Position Available In Hampden, Massachusetts

Building Maintenance Technician/Electrician PT or FT The Town ofLongmeadow, MA DPW is seeking qualified applicants for PT (20 hours perweek) or FT (40 hours per week) positions of Building MaintenancesTechnician/Electrician. Position is responsible for skilled electricalwork at the journeyman level and other maintenance work as assigned.

Successful candidate must have: Knowledge of relevant MassachusettsGeneral Laws related to essential functions. Knowledge of facilitymaintenance and working knowledge of hazards and safety precautionscommon to electrical maintenance and repair activities. Workingknowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and tools used in modernelectrical repair and maintenance. Ability to multi-task and managemultiple projects simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectivelyboth orally and in writing. Ability to maintain good public relationsand to maintain effective collaborative working relationships with Towndepartments, department heads, fellow employees, officials and thegeneral public and to respond in a courteous and professional manner.

Ability to meet deadlines and project timetables. Ability to workindependently. Ability to plan work schedule to coordinate with otherdepartments to ensure timely completion of projects. Strongcommunication skills, problem-solving skills and customer serviceskills. Strong skill in operating tools and equipment. Associates degreeor journeyman level in the trades or licenses, and 3 to 5 years ofrelated experience; or any equivalent combination of education,training, certification, and experience. Demonstrates a fullunderstanding of applicable codes, policies, procedures, and workmethods associated with assigned duties. Must have and obtain validdriver’s license; valid Massachusetts journeyman / E-2 electricallicense. Must be able to pass a CORI check.
