JOB SUMMARY
These are rotating schedules, all for night shift,6pm-6am. Performs routine and emergency maintenance on high-speedautomated manufacturing and production support equipment. Performsvarious process improvements of machines and equipment, includingmolding/extrusion through packaging. Participates introubleshooting, process improvement, and new equipmentinstallation that vary in complexity. This position includessignificant duties such as: Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns andperforms mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance wheneverrequired to ensure uninterrupted customer supply. Repairs,rebuilds, adjusts, inspects, and monitors production and/orfacility related equipment and machinery. Completes requiredpreventive maintenance at defined intervals. Routinely assesses thesuitability of such intervals and scope covered and revises whennecessary. Works with Quality and Engineering to documentrepairs/changes made to equipment. Maintains an adequate spareparts inventory to support manufacturing operations – useselectronic means to track on-hand quantities, part numbers, andother reorder data. Supports validations from a mechanical supportperspective. Supports all capital equipment projects (as thesubject matter expert (SME) for maintenance) includingspecification, design input, testing, etc. Performs maintenancetracking activities in Tabware. Orders and obtains replacementparts in storeroom in support of preventive maintenance orproactive replacement efforts. Participates in Kaizen and Leanactivities as necessary to drive continuous improvementinitiatives. Complies with safety standards includingLock-Out/Tag-Out and Zero-Energy. Complies with training in allmanufacturing areas. Handles hazardous waste as appropriate.
Performs other duties as required to meet the needs of thedepartment and company. Provides technical support to engineeringteam on equipment installations and upgrades. Trains/mentors othertechnicians in department.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to highvoltage. Lifts, pushes, pulls or moves equipment and machinery over25 pounds occasionally, and up to 65 pounds rarely. Exposure tofumes and high frequency noise in manufacturing areas. Safetyglasses and hearing protection are required on the manufacturingfloor and other designated areas. Adherence to plant safetyrequirements, OSHA and
QSR/GMP/ISO
guidelines as applicable.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Minimumof 6 years experience with equipment maintenance in an FDAcompliant manufacturing environment. Specific work experiencerequired in use of Vision systems, electrical troubleshooting ofcircuits from low level signals up to 480 VAC, Allen-BradleyProgrammable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and making modifications toLadder Logic.
