HR SUMMARY:
Under general supervision performs a variety of semi-skilled duties to monitor and maintain the coating system and service and repair mechanical equipment, in addition to related functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Maintain all ovens, wash and coating tanks and make up units. B. Test coatings, using a lab moisture analyzer to make sure they are within specifications according to Technical Data Sheet. C. Utilize solvents (hazardous) in a safe manner; obey safety rules for hazardous material. D. Perform daily maintenance as required to maintain equipment, including AC Units and RO system. E. Assist with maintaining and upgrading equipment using multiple skills as needed to do the job and keep production running. F. Assist maintenance staff with installation of pumps, gears, and mechanical drive systems when needed. G. Maintain records of maintenance and upkeep for future reference. H. Start up Thermal & UV Cure Room as needed I. Organize and prepare paperwork for hazmat shipments. J. Process Daily logs on “Process Documentation”. K. Process Purchase Orders for coatings, clean room materials and hazmat pick-ups as needed. L. Cross train in wash & coating room operations. M. Report any unsafe equipment or alleged injuries immediately to Department Manager or Supervisor. N. Maintain open communication with Department Manager/Supervisor O. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations including lock-out/tag out procedures. P. Schedule time and projects for back up, set up people. Q. Instruct and train other personnel as needed.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability and willingness to work during a 24-hour period, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Overall conditions are good with some seasonal hot and cold. Job hazards include working around and with open machinery and industrial chemicals.
EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE
High school or trade school diploma or equivalent and at least one (1) year’s experience in the mechanical field.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to execute oral and written instructions. Must possess some familiarity with mechanical/electrical equipment, instruments, and various tools; ability to read schematics is a plus. Must have a positive attitude, a satisfactory work history, maintain a good attendance record, and work well with co-workers. Hazmat certified (hazmat awareness) or ability to obtain certification. Must be able to obtain a fork truck license or certificate.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to service heavy and light equipment. Must wear personal protective equipment where posted or required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. No known allergies to common industrial chemicals and ability to work with chemicals as required, with or without a respirator as needed.
