Job Description

Junior Sewing Maintenance Mechanic 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 12 Park Street, Webster, MA 01570 Responsible for maintaining the optimal functionality and ensuring periodic maintenance of our production machinery, including sewing machines, computerized and automated machines, computerized and automated cutting equipment, computerized and automated quilting machines, and tape edge sewing machines. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with sewing machine operator experience who have a strong interest or foundational experience in mechanical maintenance. Perform basic preventative maintenance on industrial sewing machines (e.g., oiling, cleaning, tightening belts). Assist senior mechanics in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues in sewing and related textile equipment. Set up and configure each machine so that it is optimized for mattress manufacturing. Conduct minor repairs and adjustments to ensure optimal stitch quality and equipment uptime. Complete daily preventative maintenance to reduce machine downtime. Support the setup and calibration of sewing machines for different product lines and fabric types. Test and document operation of all sewing equipment and keep a repair log. Replace broken or worn machine parts such as needles, hooks, feed dogs, and tension components. Lead safety first culture and help implement and ensure safety procedures are used throughout the facility. Other duties and tasks as needed to support production, quality, and safety.

Primary job location:

Webster May be asked to work in Woodstock, CT if necessary. High school education or equivalent plus at least two years in a specialized training program Comprehensive knowledge of equipment used to perform job functions. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide relevant services Ability to communicate verbally and understand spoken instruction in English Ability and understanding of how to use a multimeter. Familiarity with Computer Maintenance Management Systems The ability to solve both creative and technical problems Diagnosis and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems Experience with industrial sewing equipment

Physical Requirements :

Ability to – Stand and walk for long periods of time Climb and work at heights up to 40 feet Balance Bend/stoop/crawl Lift (up to 50 pounds)
