Job Description

Overview Sugarloaf is seeking to hire a full-time, year-round experienced Lift Maintenance Technician t o join our team. We are seeking detail-oriented, physically fit candidates who are willing to work outside in all types of weather conditions, day or night, for this role. Lift Maintenance Technicians install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot lift equipment as well as assist lift operations with the start up and shut down of the lifts daily. They also read diagrams and manufacturers’ manuals, fit bearings, rebuild sheave trains, service grips and perform other mechanical procedures requiring specialized training. Candidates must be able to work at great heights and should have at least 3 years of lift maintenance experience. This role will typically work a 4 day week with 10 hour shifts and overtime as needed. Responsibilities Safely operate motorized vehicles suggested, but not limited to: work trucks, snowmobiles, loader and four wheeler Working on and climbing lift towers (not limited estimate of 6ft-130ft tall) Working on top of lift assemblies without work platforms (which are not required) Working with moving machinery equipment (RPMs estimated @ 1750 RPM) Working with high pressure hydraulics Troubleshooting and working with high volt and low volt controls Working with cleaning solvents, greases, oils, other flammables and combustibles Work safely doing line work in a maintenance work basket Safely working with all shop tools suggested, but not limited to: drill press, band saw, lathe, skill saw, grinder, stud gun, parts washer, slip tester, welding machine, acetylene torch, oxygen and nitrogen cylinders and many simple hand tools Be able to respond to accidents or wrecks on mountain Qualifications At least 3 years of increasingly responsible experience performing maintenance and repair work with ski area equipment Millwright or apprentice with ski industry experience a plus Must be able to ski or snowboard safely and responsibly Must be able to work safely in a team effort, work independently in the absence of supervision, and respond appropriately when immediate action is required Sugarloaf Team Member Benefits include : Free lift pass for skiing and/or riding (at all Boyne Resorts) Discounts at resort F&B and retail locations Discounted ski/snowboard lessons and rentals Access to Nordic trails and discounted equipment rentals at our Outdoor Center location Discounted passes at other partner resorts Eligibility for end of season loyalty bonus (summer/winter) Eligible for medical/dental/vision/life insurance benefits Team Members may also be eligible to earn up to 40 hours of paid time off
