We are always seeking tradespeople with a strong work ethic who are willing to support the best team in the business. Our team is Trenton, ME is looking for a teak deck installer to perform intricate joiner, carpentry tasks on and off boats, following blueprints, and scale drawings with minimal supervision. Able to work through standardized aspects of yacht construction for most models, as well as pre-fabrication within established schedule. Skilled in the operation and set-up of specialized equipment to achieve desired result. Please apply if you are skilled at: Transfer dimensions to marine plywood and can make accurate cuts of wood and other materials using a variety of tools of the trade. Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints along with math functions. Able to confidently free hand with a trim router Layout, cut and assemble floor parts, such as panels, margin boards, and trim. Good working knowledge of most woodworking joints in the marine industry, such as scarf, sill splice, lap, finger, and dovetail. Skilled knowledge and use of epoxies and vinyl ester resins or other adhesives to bond parts.
Requirements:
Course work in wood and/or metals preferred. Knowledge, operation, and set-up of tape measure, square, hand saw, hand plane, table saw, and chop saw, planer, joiner, band saw, shaper, surface sander, and router.
Physical Requirements:
Lift and carry over 60 lbs. on an occasional basis (over 15% and up to 40%). Requires moderate physical demand, occasionally lifting or moving heavy weight material and working in difficult work positions. Requires continuous mental and visual attention on an intermittent basis. Must be able to lift, bend, kneel, stoop, push and pull. Requires working under disagreeable conditions on a frequent basis where elements such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, vibration, noise, water, or chemicals may be present.
