We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Regional Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Operations Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing crematory equipment across multiple care centers. You’ll serve as a trusted expert for diagnosing issues, executing timely repairs, and training on-site staff on equipment maintenance basics. This role is highly mobile, involving up to 80% of travel across the western U.S., and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on a compassionate, mission-driven organization. What You’ll Do Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on crematory machinery and related systems Diagnose problems using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical manuals Replace or repair parts, order supplies, and maintain accurate repair logs Advise management on equipment conditions, repair timelines, and recommendations Perform basic building maintenance (e.g., electrical, HVAC, carpentry, cleaning) Train on-site personnel in basic crematory maintenance and machine operation Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with company standards What You’ll Bring High school diploma, GED, or technical certification 2+ years of maintenance experience (HVAC, electrical, PLCs, refractory preferred) Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively Ability to read schematics use multimeters and manometers Strong organizational and time management skills High level of integrity and ability to work independently Comfortable working in varying physical conditions (heat, cold, noise, lifting 65+ lbs) Perks & Benefits (U.S.) Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision) 401(k) with company match Paid time off & holidays Travel reimbursement Company-paid life insurance & disability coverage Career development opportunities A chance to be part of a compassionate team doing meaningful work Diversity, Equity & Inclusion At Gateway, we value diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
