Maintenance/Grounds Technician

PAY:

$ 24,226.07

SCHEDULE/SHIFTS:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with variations as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs skilled tasks in one or more of the following maintenance repair fields: painting, plumbing, carpentry, plastering, electrical work, electronics, air-conditioning/ refrigeration, heating, or general maintenance and repair. Receives work orders; itemizes work to be done; and assigns tasks to subordinates. Supervises and participates in the installation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, buildings, equipment, and fixtures. Prepares cost estimates and recommends purchase of necessary supplies. Prepares reports and keeps simple records. Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma) AND 1-2 years of experience in at least one of the following fields: plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical work, electronics, plastering, air-conditioning/refrigeration, heating equipment, or general maintenance and repair. OR One (1) year of successful experience as a Facilities Maintenance Repairer I. Candidate must have a Valid Divers License. The ability to lift fifty (50) pounds, without assistance, employing proper body mechanics and lifting techniques, twenty-five (25) times per day. The ability to retrieve objects from floor level (bend/stoop) employing proper body mechanics and lifting techniques, twenty-five (25) times per day. This is a State of Mississippi Position.
