Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems Manage customer expectations and maintain high level of customer satisfaction Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively Respond to service requests from managers in a timely manner Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or installations Fabricate and install fixtures, equipment, and components as needed Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment in conjunction with Compliance and Safety Officer Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs

Requirements:

High School Diploma, Equivalency, or Technical Degree preferred. Three to five years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of education requirements. Certification(s): Possesses and maintains a valid Mississippi Driver’s License, Basic Life Support Certification within 90 days of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify potential problems. Ability to learn, demonstrate, and train individuals with varying abilities on maintenance. Can work independently, communicating with manager as needed. Adept at negotiations both internal and external.

Additional Requirements:

Supports the mission and vision of Goodwill Industries of Mississippi. On-call availability via phone outside routine business hours Promotes and demonstrates ethical and safe practices in all activities. Ability to pass alcohol/drug screenings, criminal background check, and MVR review.

Physical Requirements:

Works in an environment with occasional high stress and potentially short deadlines. Sits occasionally but walks most of workday find it necessary to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders up to 15 feet during inspections. Routinely bends, stoops, pulls, pushes, reaches, kneels, twists, turns during the day. Ability to lift up to 25-35 pounds in an office environment; and the ability to do so safely.

Travel:

Substantial travel within GIMS territory is required, and some external travel for training and meetings will be necessary on occasion.
